What\'s New in Vocab Loco: Refreshed Dashboards, My Custom Words Page, and More

We've been busy making Vocab Loco better with refreshed dashboards, more control over your word content, and new ways to keep students engaged and motivated. Here's what's new! 🎉

🖥️ Fresh New Look

Redesigned Teacher & Student Dashboards

Teacher and student dashboards have been redesigned to make navigation simpler, key actions easier to find, and everyday tasks faster to complete.

Where to find it: Log in and enjoy it right away. No settings needed.

✏️ New: My Custom Words Page

A Dedicated Place to Manage Your Word Customizations

Custom words have always been part of Vocab Loco, and now they have a dedicated home. The new My Custom Words page gives you one place to view, search, and manage all word customizations. Edit definitions, example sentences, synonyms, antonyms, first-letter casing, and distractor options. AI assistance is available throughout to help speed things up.

Customizations are global, so any changes you make apply every time that word appears across your lists.

Where to find it: Teacher Dashboard → My Custom Words (left sidebar)

📅 New Setting: Word a Day

Control Whether Students See the Word of the Day

Teachers can now choose whether to show or hide the Word a Day widget on the student dashboard. When enabled, students see a new vocabulary word each day, complete with definition and synonyms, and can browse their full word history. When disabled, the widget and its page are hidden from students entirely.

Word a Day is enabled by default for all classrooms.

Where to find it: Teacher Dashboard → Customize Program → Word a Day.

🔥 New Feature: Your Learning Days Calendar

Encourage Daily Vocabulary Practice

Students now have a personal Learning Days calendar right on their dashboard. The calendar tracks both visit days and practice days, helping students see their learning habits over time.  The calendar also shows a motivational feedback message that changes based on how active the student has been throughout the month.

It's a simple and engaging way for students to see their consistency and stay motivated to keep their streak going.

Where to find it: Student Dashboard → Your Learning Days card.
